My Hospital Bag for Labor and Delivery: What You Really Need

Baby Boy is due on June 20, 2025. I am 33 weeks today, so I think it is a good idea to start prepping what I want to bring to the hospital for labor and delivery. UPDATE - I am now 39 weeks pregnant and I have everything packed!

With my first born, Camryn, I kept it pretty simple (see my other blog post). I think I will do the same this time! Here is my updated list to what I am packing in my hospital bag for labor, delivery and postpartum care.

As my due date approaches, I’ve finally finished selecting what to bring in my hospital bag! After reading dozens of lists and talking to other moms, I put together what I think is a practical (but prepared!) list of everything I’ll need for labor, delivery, and postpartum recovery. Whether you’re a first-time mom or looking for a refresher, I hope this checklist helps make things a little easier for you.

For Mom (Me!) During Labor

For Postpartum Recovery

For Baby

Suggestions! :

  • Pack by 36 weeks - I used this Duffle Bag and LOVE it!

  • Use packing cubes for easy organization (these are a less expensive version)

  • Don’t overpack - the hospital has everything you need, really, especially the basics.

  • Bring a separate bag or leave room in your suitcase for going home!

Hospital Bag FAQs (H2)

When should I pack my hospital bag?
Ideally by 36–37 weeks — earlier if you're high-risk or expecting multiples.

Do I need to bring my own diapers or wipes for the baby?
Most hospitals provide these, but it’s worth confirming with yours.

What should I wear home after giving birth?
Loose-fitting, high-waisted clothes or a flowy dress are great — comfort is key!

I hope my hospital back checklist helps! If I am forgetting something, write in the comments below or tell me your must haves!

7 Minute Makeup Routine with Sweed Beauty

I recently discovered a clean and vegan makeup brand called Sweed. Known for its vegan and clean products, the mascara instantly was what I was instantly drawn to, but naturally I decided to try out a few other products and also fell in love. See my easy everyday makeup routine below and what I use.

The Lash Lift Mascara is my new favorite, clean and vegan mascara! It lasts all day, it is easy to put on without making a mess and easy to take off at the end of the day. I love this mascara because it separates my lashes, it looks natural (with a little enhancement) and lifts them. I get the dark brown color.

I also have fallen in love with the Miracle Powder. I wear Medium Light 02 - it goes on so easily and is what makes my makeup routine super quick. I am a mom and this is exactly what I needed for a quick application. It blurs my skin and it is light and buildable. It also leaves such a nice glow finish! It is a plus that it is clean and vegan, too! This Sweed Miracle Powder is also great for sensitive skin. I use this brush to apply the Miracle Powder.

In the photo below, I am wearing Sweed Miracle Powder in Medium Light 02 with Dibs Beauty Duo Bronzer and then Sweed Air Blush in Cheeky finished with Sweed Lash Lift Mascara in Dark Brown and Sweed Brow Pencil in Brown.
